Afull service history with evidence of regular oil changes is particularly important for the diesel engines. What are the most common problems with a used Mazda 5 MPV? Is a used Mazda 5 MPV reliable?Manybuyers who choose a petrol-powered Mazda CX-5 would probably be better served by the sleeper engine of the lineup: the 2.2-litre twin-turbo diesel.. Producing 140kW/450Nm, Mazda’s diesel is a bit more workmanlike than the better-known turbo petrol available with the CX-5, but it outpunches any of this brand’s other engines in the torque department.
Insummer i have managed 47mpg which is pretty good; automatic will be lower. My 07 Focus 1.6 petrol gave me 38mpg driving the same route. I have heard of some reliability issues with Mazda diesels most likely as they have been used for short journeys. Overall I like the 3 - nice interior, good handling, reliable and looks good too.NhWM7dw.
